April 14, 2025 Our 1:1 Academic Achievement Program In Action Tommy's Transformative Learning Gains Tommy* has always struggled with spelling, never getting a word correct on a test. But that all started to change when Riley, our academic achievement specialist, began working with him. Riley recognized that Tommy needed a different approach and created flashcards to help him study. At first, Tommy wasn’t sure how to study, but with Riley’s guidance, he learned how to use the flashcards and what to focus on. The next spelling test, Tommy got his first word correct—and his excitement was contagious. After two weeks of working with Riley he got six words correct. It wasn’t just about the score; it was about Tommy discovering his own determination and grit. Now, with the right tools and a new sense of confidence, Tommy has the skills he needs to continue improving. He’s a bright kid with a lot of potential, and Riley’s support is giving him the foundation he needs to succeed academically.
