April 27, 2022 Friends of the Children Open House: Celebrating our Program Launch We welcomed more than 60 supporters to our clubhouse on April 7 Friends of the Children Open House: Celebrating our Program Launch We welcomed more than 60 supporters to our clubhouse on Thursday afternoon April 7 to celebrate the enrollment of our first children into the Friends of the Children program and the opening of our clubhouse. With beautiful sunny weather, we spent the afternoon outside enjoying many special moments with our amazing supporters, including a ribbon cutting sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and great speeches by a number of our community champions like Barbara Frank (Lowell Elementary), Amy Tykeson (Tykeson Family Foundation) and Josh Kroll (Park Side Credit Union), as well as Friends of the Children staff Ben Davis and Stacy Houge. A big thank you to Park Side Credit Union for providing the food for the occasion. By far the biggest applauses went to our new Friends, Kinley and Tyler, and our brave children who did an amazing job cutting the ribbon in front of the big crowd. Some very special memories were made.
