Lisa Brueggeman, an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, was born and raised on the Flathead Reservation, where she still resides. A proud mother of six and Yiya (grandmother) to three grandchildren, Lisa draws strength from her connection to her family, culture, and the beauty of her homeland. Having faced a difficult upbringing marked by violence, abuse, and addiction, Lisa found herself repeating those cycles as an adult. Her journey of change began when others intervened, encouraging her to reflect and transform her life. Determined to break the cycle for her children, Lisa chose a path of healing and growth. Today, she is a proud mother, a role model for her family, and an advocate for change, using her experiences to help others on the reservation build healthier lives and futures.
