Staff: Desirae Evan

Desirae Evan joins Friends of the Children as an AmeriCorps Vista. She graduated from Alaska Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and has hopes of furthering her education. Desirae enjoys volunteering in her hometown where she assists with environmental clean ups to keep Alaska’s natural spaces clean and healthy. She also volunteers during her community’s Cultural Heritage week to ensure the vitality of traditional home economics needs in developing youth. In her free time, she enjoys visiting museums, arts and crafts such as crocheting, oil painting, collaging, sketching and more. Desirae is dedicated to serving in her role as a VISTA for Friends of the Children and hopes to continue working with similar organizations.
